What is a hotwife?
A hotwife is a woman in a committed relationship who has sexual experiences with other people with her partner's full knowledge and encouragement. Her partner, often called the stag, usually takes pride in her experiences. Because both partners agree and either can stop, it is a consensual dynamic, not infidelity.
In a hotwife arrangement, the wife decides who she meets and what she does. Her partner actively supports and encourages that freedom. Both partners explicitly agree to the arrangement, with full knowledge and enthusiastic consent. The word is community slang, written as one word or as 'hot wife', and it applies to unmarried couples too; 'wife' is shorthand, not a legal status.
What distinguishes a hotwife arrangement from infidelity is precisely the presence of consent and encouragement. A hotwife is not secretly seeing other people — her partner knows, agrees, and often takes an active role in planning. Some couples describe the emotional engine as compersion: the partner's genuine satisfaction in her pleasure and in her desirability to others.
