The Fort Lauderdale lifestyle & swinger scene: a local guide.

Broward's published scene is narrow and specific: one long-running on-premise club in the Tamarac area of the Fort Lauderdale metro, and one clothing-optional resort hotel in Hollywood. Both sit within a short drive of downtown Fort Lauderdale, and Broward is the closest club area for anyone driving down from Palm Beach County. Here is what each option actually is, and how ID verification is planned to work before contact after launch.

What Fort Lauderdale is actually like.

Fort Lauderdale grew up from a spring-break town into a polished, boating-and-yachting, distinctly grown-up coastal city — wealthier and more relaxed than Miami, with a large gay community. Its club entry is Trapeze, in the Tamarac area of Broward County: an upscale on-premise venue its own site calls “the area's longest maintained and most well-known on-premise Lifestyle Club”, with a dress code it labels “Strictly Enforced”. Broward's other option is a different format entirely — the clothing-optional Rooftop Resort in Hollywood, between Fort Lauderdale and Miami, which its own site calls “the only completely clothing optional (nudist) hotel in South Florida”. Rooftop Resort also hosts takeover weekends.

South Florida runs on nightlife energy: on-premise clubs, a clothing-optional party hotel, and a steady calendar of hotel takeovers. The listed venues sit in Miami, Hollywood, and Tamarac, so pick by format and location rather than by city name alone.

Clubs and resorts in and around Fort Lauderdale.

Every venue below was checked against public sources as real and currently operating. We describe each one honestly — including where reviews are mixed — and link the official site instead of a stale address.

What we don't publish: street addresses, phone numbers and venue event calendars. The directory links each venue's official site instead, because that is the only place to confirm the night you are buying, the door rules attached to it, and how to get there.

The formats, side by side.

Three venues, two formats, three cities. Trapeze is the on-premise club night — the directory lists it under Fort Lauderdale, in the Tamarac area of Broward. Rooftop Resort is the resort side: a clothing-optional hotel in Hollywood rather than a club floor. Miami Velvet is the third entry, a nightclub in Miami, and it is the one the Miami guide covers.

Only two of the three are in Broward. The directory lists Trapeze in Fort Lauderdale (Tamarac), Rooftop Resort in Hollywood and Miami Velvet in Miami — so if you are staying in Fort Lauderdale, the first two are the local pair and the third is a separate drive south. One further Broward entry, Krave Lifestyle in Pompano Beach, is archived in the directory: the domain formerly associated with it still presents itself as Velvet FTL, so the reported rename could not be verified and it is not listed as a current option. Confirm the night you are considering on the venue's own site.

Before you go, venue by venue.

What each venue publishes about a first visit, what to wear and what to budget. These are the directory's own notes for each venue, not a summary of them — follow the venue name for the full profile.

  • Trapeze

If this is your first visit
Read the club's posted rules and the specific night's dress code on the official site before you leave home. Arrive as a couple, start on the social floor, and treat play areas as optional — nothing about the club's format requires using them on a first visit. Agree on a simple couple check-in signal, keep phones out of private areas, and take a rideshare plan seriously so neither of you is stranded negotiating logistics at 2 a.m. The club's own site limits single-gentleman attendance to Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday — single men are not admitted on Saturdays — so do not build a first visit around a night or an exception you have not confirmed on the club's current materials.
    What to wear
Trapeze's posted rules apply dress standards on club nights — dress to impress, not downtown-casual. Theme nights may require specific colors, looks, or levels of dress; those requirements are posted on the official Fort Lauderdale calendar and are applied at the door. When in doubt, err sharper and more intentional than you would for a vanilla bar, and re-read the night's event page the day of.
    What to budget
Current published pricing — couples and single-category memberships, nightly fees, and the taxes and card charge added at the door — is consolidated in the visit facts panel near the top of this guide, checked against the official pricing page in August 2026. Recheck trapezeclubs.com before arrival because rates can change.

  • Miami Velvet

If this is your first visit
You can treat Velvet purely as a dressed-up nightclub: dance, talk, and leave without using play areas. Go as a couple unless you have confirmed another door category in writing. Read the night's official event rules, arrive looking like you meant to be in a Miami club, and set a shared expectation that social chemistry — not a guaranteed play outcome — is the success metric. Keep phones out of private areas, agree on a check-in signal, and use rideshare rather than debating parking at closing time. If your primary goal is maximum play volume with traditional swingers-club pacing, compare Trapeze in Broward on a different night.
    What to wear
Expect Miami nightclub-level dress — the club runs as a dress-up room on its nightclub nights. Think intentional clubwear over casual downtown attire; theme nights can add color, fetish-chic, or formal-leaning requirements posted on the official calendar. When a theme is published, treat it as door policy, not a suggestion. If you are unsure, overdress slightly and re-check the event page the day of your visit.
    What to budget
Pricing depends on the event, membership status, and guest category. A durable current amount is not stored in this guide; check Miami Velvet's official Pricing and event pages for the date you plan to attend.

Operational details were last checked July 2026.

  • Rooftop Resort

If this is your first visit
Better as a second or third step than a first one — the lack of structure that makes it fun also means you need to be comfortable holding your own boundaries in a mixed crowd. If you go, a hosted takeover weekend gives you more context than a random night.
    What to wear
Publicly advertised as clothing-optional throughout the property, so there is little to dress for beyond your own comfort level — check the resort's posted rules for any venue-specific expectations.

Fort Lauderdale, answered.

Is there a lifestyle club in Fort Lauderdale?

There is one long-running on-premise club in the Fort Lauderdale metro — Trapeze, which the directory lists under Fort Lauderdale in the Tamarac area of Broward County. Its own site (checked August 2026) describes “a spacious dance floor, intimate private rooms, and comfortable lounge areas” and a clothing-free back area with complimentary lockers, and says both single women and couples may attend nightly events beginning at 8 p.m., with single-gentleman attendance limited to certain nights. Broward's second option is a different format: the clothing-optional Rooftop Resort in Hollywood, a hotel rather than a club. Check the calendar for the night you are considering and read the current entry rules before you go.

What is the difference between Trapeze and Rooftop Resort in Broward?

They are two different products. Trapeze is a structured, on-premise club in the Tamarac area with a posted dress code and themed party nights on its own events page (checked August 2026); its site says both single women and couples may attend nightly events from 8 p.m., while single-gentleman attendance is limited to Wednesday through Friday and Sunday. Rooftop Resort in Hollywood is a clothing-optional hotel where you book a room or a day or night pass. Pick the club if you want a night out with a door policy; pick the resort if you want a pool-centered stay.

How do couples meet other couples in Fort Lauderdale?

Start with the two venues in Broward — Trapeze in the Tamarac area and Rooftop Resort in Hollywood — and confirm each one's current calendar and door policy directly. Rooftop Resort's own events page (checked August 2026) lists weekly Saturday and Sunday events, and Rooftop Resort also hosts takeover weekends. JoinTheSwing does not host or organize events, and after launch a short introduction request would have to be accepted before a private conversation opens.

Can single women go to the Broward clubs?

Per Trapeze's own site (checked August 2026), both single women and couples may attend nightly events beginning at 8 p.m., while single-gentleman attendance is limited to Wednesday through Friday and Sunday and is not permitted on Saturday nights. Rooftop Resort's policy is a hotel policy rather than a club door policy; read its own posted rules before you book. Confirm the specifics for your night on the venue's own site, because entry terms are the venue's to set.

How should a first-timer plan a Fort Lauderdale visit?

A clothing-optional resort day at Rooftop Resort is one way to get comfortable with social nudity without committing to a club night, and it sells day and night passes alongside rooms. At Trapeze, check the events page and choose a night that matches what you want from the visit — a standard couples night is a gentler first look than the loudest themed Saturday. Either way, having already made contact with a couple or two beforehand takes most of the nerves out of it, which is the part identity verification is planned to support after launch.

Which Broward cities have a lifestyle venue?

In two different cities. The directory lists Trapeze under Fort Lauderdale, operating in the Tamarac area of Broward County, and Rooftop Resort in Hollywood, between Fort Lauderdale and Miami. JoinTheSwing publishes no street addresses — each venue's official site is where the directions, the door rules and the current calendar for your night come from. Broward is also the closest club area for anyone driving down from Palm Beach County, so a Deerfield Beach or Boca Raton evening can be a short trip south rather than a Miami trip.

What is the weather like in Fort Lauderdale through the year?

Fall through spring is the milder South Florida season; summers are hotter and more humid, and hurricane season runs from June through November. Check each venue's own calendar for the dates you want.

How does Fort Lauderdale compare with Miami?

Broward and Miami-Dade are separate markets with separate venue mixes. Broward's published pair is one on-premise club in the Tamarac area and one clothing-optional resort hotel in Hollywood; Miami-Dade's entry in this directory is Miami Velvet, a nightclub whose own FAQ says play is optional. Miami is the next metro south, so a Fort Lauderdale weekend can include either. The Miami and South Florida scene guide covers the southern side in detail.

Which parts of Broward does this guide cover?

The county as a whole, not just the city line. Fort Lauderdale anchors Broward, with Hollywood and Pompano Beach along the Atlantic coast and Deerfield Beach at the northern edge, and the directory carries a scene page for each of the county's larger communities — Hollywood, Plantation, Oakland Park, Margate, Coconut Creek and Parkland among them. This page is the metro overview; the city pages linked above are where the neighborhood-level detail and each community's nearest listed venue sit.
