What does House Rules mean?
House rules are the explicit conduct expectations set by the host of a Lifestyle event or play space — covering consent norms, photography policy, safe-sex requirements, and the host's standards for respectful behavior.
Every well-run Lifestyle event has house rules — some posted at the entrance, some communicated verbally at check-in, some cultural norms assumed from the community's shared vocabulary. Understanding house rules before attending any event is basic Lifestyle etiquette.
Common house rules cover: no photography or recording; condom use required in all play spaces; the host's safe word policy (often 'red stop, yellow slow down'); no means no and a soft no means no; guests must be verified at the door; no solo approaches on the floor without prior social introduction in the lounge.
Hosts who articulate their house rules clearly, enforce them consistently, and back them up with active presence create events where members feel safe enough to relax and be open. Events without clear house rules or where rules are applied inconsistently develop reputations that drive the community's most experienced and desirable members away.
