What does House Party mean?

A Lifestyle house party is a private, hosted gathering at a member's home — smaller and more intimate than a club night, typically invitation-only, and gated by personal relationship with the host.

House parties are the original Lifestyle event format. Before clubs existed, the community lived in private homes, and the hosted gathering was the only access point. That heritage gives house parties a distinct character: they feel personal, the host is known, the guest list is small, and the social stakes of bad behavior are high because everyone knows everyone.

Invitations to house parties are typically by personal introduction — you know the host, or someone they trust vouches for you. They are rarely advertised publicly. Attendance signals a level of community integration that newer participants haven't yet achieved.

As digital platforms have grown, some host couples use them to expand their guest list while preserving the intimate character of the house party. JoinTheSwing's Circle and Invitation features let established hosts add new members they've met online to their guest lists without losing the sense of a curated, trusted room.
