What does Meet-and-Greet mean?
A meet-and-greet is a social event — typically a bar night or casual gathering — designed for Lifestyle couples and singles to meet, build chemistry, and assess compatibility before any play occurs.
Meet-and-greets are the social lubricant of the Lifestyle. They exist because the community learned long ago that cold-approach encounters at clubs rarely produce the best experiences. A meet-and-greet gives potential partners a low-stakes venue to determine if they actually enjoy each other's company — and most experienced Lifestyle participants treat it as an essential step before moving toward any play.
A good meet-and-greet has clear context (usually hosted by a recognized couple or club), a comfortable venue (often a reserved section of a regular bar), and a relaxed tone. There is no obligation to proceed further afterward. 'Let's meet for drinks first' is not a hedge — it's the standard operating procedure of the experienced Lifestyle participant.
JoinTheSwing's Invitation system supports meet-and-greet events as a first-class event type. Hosts can create RSVP-gated social nights with all the same verification and vouch controls as play parties, ensuring that even the pre-screening social is working within the community's trust architecture.
