What does Verification (Lifestyle Context) mean?
Verification in the Lifestyle confirms that a member is a real, consenting adult. JoinTheSwing uses zero-retention ID + selfie verification — our team reviews the documents and deletes the photos after confirmation; only the 'Verified' badge is stored.
Verification is the foundational trust layer of the JoinTheSwing platform — and of the Lifestyle community more broadly. In any context where people are sharing intimacy with relative strangers, the difference between 'I believe you are who you say you are' and 'I know you are who you say you are' is significant.
JTS's approach uses zero-retention ID + selfie verification: our team reviews the government ID and selfie to confirm they match, the photos are deleted immediately after the review passes, and only the 'Verified' status is stored. This means clubs, hosts, and other members can trust the badge without JTS holding a database of identity documents or photos — a meaningful privacy advantage over platforms that store everything.
Why verification matters: a club using JTS for event ticketing knows every RSVP belongs to a verified human. A member receiving a Letter knows the sender passed the same check. This turns a trust question from 'I hope they're legitimate' into 'I know they passed the same verification I did.' That shift changes what's possible in the room.
