How does ID verification work on lifestyle sites?
Verification practices vary, and an email address alone does not establish who controls a profile. After its release gates pass, JoinTheSwing is designed to require Veriff's document, face-match, and liveness flow before discovery or contact. JoinTheSwing keeps the decision, the consent receipt, the provider reference and the review metadata—from the current Veriff check the images never reach us.
Read the platform’s current policy before you trust a verification badge. Some sites confirm an email address or phone number. Others offer optional photo checks or document review through a provider. Access to an inbox does not establish identity. An identity check still cannot tell you someone’s relationship status, character, consent or future conduct.
The member submits a government-issued ID and a selfie through the verification provider so the identity document, age, and face match can be reviewed.
The provider handles source data under its privacy and retention terms. JoinTheSwing keeps the verification result, the consent receipt, the provider reference, and the review metadata needed for safety and audit purposes; from the current Veriff check the source ID and selfie images never reach JoinTheSwing application storage.
A verified badge is a bounded signal that the account completed the applicable provider flow. When supported features are available, it may be used as one discovery or guest-review input; it does not prove that profile claims are accurate, that two people remain a couple, or that anyone will behave safely.
If you want to understand the full verification process before you start, the Member Trust and Verification guide walks through each step, explains what happens after verification, and describes what unlocks once you have a verified badge.
