On JoinTheSwing, member profiles are never indexed publicly, photos stay behind verified access, and the platform installs as a discreet PWA with no App Store footprint. Verification uses zero-retention — the ID images are deleted after the check and not stored in any database.
Discretion in the lifestyle community has two distinct meanings: privacy from the general public, and privacy within the community itself. Both matter and they require different design decisions from the platform.
Privacy from the public means that your profile, photos, and activity are never findable via Google, never cached by search engines, and never visible to anyone who is not a verified member. JoinTheSwing keeps all member-facing content behind verified access and does not index any of it publicly.
Privacy within the community means that your profile information is shared only on your terms. You control who can see your photos via private album permissions, who can initiate contact via the Letters consent layer, and who knows your travel plans via the Itinerary feature.
From a device standpoint, JoinTheSwing installs as a Progressive Web App (PWA) directly from the browser. There is no entry in your App Store or Google Play purchase history, no app icon with a recognisable name unless you choose one, and no notifications unless you enable them. The app experience is indistinguishable from any other home screen shortcut.
Regarding verification, the zero-retention policy means that the government ID and selfie used to verify your identity are deleted after the review completes. The platform retains only the verified badge — not the underlying documents. This is a meaningful privacy protection compared to platforms that store identity documents indefinitely.
