What does Discretion mean?
Discretion in the Lifestyle means protecting the privacy of everyone encountered — never sharing who you've met, what you've seen, or where events were held without explicit permission from all parties involved.
Discretion is both a community value and a practical necessity. Most Lifestyle participants maintain a separation between their community participation and their professional or vanilla social lives. Violating someone else's discretion — mentioning their name in the wrong context, sharing photos taken at an event, revealing their participation to mutual vanilla friends — is one of the most serious social transgressions in the community.
The discretion norm runs deeper than simple privacy. It is a form of mutual protection: every member knows that the same discretion they extend to others is being extended to them. This reciprocity is what makes it possible to be open within the community while maintaining boundaries outside it.
JoinTheSwing is built with discretion as a design principle. The platform does not index profiles in public search engines, the PWA installs discreetly, and private albums require consent-gated access. These architectural choices serve the same value the community has practiced socially for decades.
