What does Vouch mean?

A vouch is a public endorsement written by one verified member for another — portable community reputation that signals real-world presence, respectful behavior, and trustworthiness.

Vouches are the social record of the Lifestyle community. In pre-digital community culture, reputation traveled by word of mouth through host networks. JoinTheSwing formalizes this: a verified member who has met, played with, or otherwise interacted positively with another member can leave a written vouch that appears on that person's profile.

Vouches are visible only to other verified members, which preserves the semi-private nature of community reputation. They cannot be purchased, faked, or gamed without the cooperation of a real verified member. This makes them a reliable signal — a profile with multiple recent vouches from different people has been present in the community and has behaved well enough that multiple people chose to endorse them publicly.

Hosts can use vouch counts as gatekeeping criteria: require a minimum of three vouches for a house-party invitation, or two vouches for a Circle membership. This creates a reputation flywheel — attending events earns vouches, vouches unlock access, access creates more opportunities to earn vouches.
