What are vouches on JoinTheSwing and how do they work?

A vouch is a social credential. When a verified member who has met you in person writes a vouch on your profile, they are putting their own reputation behind yours. It is a public statement within the verified community that they know you, you are who you say you are, and you behave well.

Vouches matter most in exactly the situations where you need them: getting RSVP approval for an event where the host does not know you, making a first introduction to another couple who has never heard of you, or establishing yourself in a new city when you travel.

For new members, getting your first vouches is the most valuable social work you can do. Attend meet-and-greet style events, engage genuinely with the community, build real connections with verified people, and ask them for vouches after you have actually met in person.

For existing members evaluating a profile, multiple independent vouches from verified members across different events and locations is a very strong trust signal. A profile with five vouches from five different well-regarded community members is essentially impossible to fake.

Vouch requests go through the platform's consent model. You cannot manufacture a vouch from someone who has not genuinely interacted with you. The vouch system is tied to verified identities, so the vouches themselves carry the credibility of the underlying verification.
