What does Consent mean?
In the Lifestyle, consent is the informed, enthusiastic, ongoing agreement of all parties to any activity — freely given, reversible at any time, specific to what was agreed, and never assumed from prior encounters.
Consent is the foundational operating principle of ethical non-monogamy. The standard is not merely the absence of a 'no' — it is an informed, voluntary, specific agreement from everyone involved. Community shorthand is FRIES: Freely given, Reversible, Informed, Enthusiastic, and Specific.
Freely given means no coercion or impaired decision-making. Reversible means anyone can stop at any moment. Informed means no material misrepresentation. Specific means agreement to one thing is not agreement to another.
