How is consent handled in the lifestyle community?
Consent is explicit, ongoing, specific, and revocable: anyone can withdraw at any moment, and that must be respected immediately. Identity review and guest-list approval are access or risk controls, not consent. Platforms and hosts can support consent with request-first communication, clear rules, visible reporting paths, and staff who act on concerns.
The lifestyle community places consent at the centre of every interaction, partly because the activities involved require it, and partly because the community has learned through hard experience what happens when platforms and events do not enforce it.
Consent in this context is explicit — it is something that is stated and confirmed, not inferred from proximity or prior agreement. A couple who has enjoyed a particular activity with another couple at a previous event has not consented to it at the next one. Consent is event-specific, activity-specific, and moment-specific.

Events and venues that take this seriously have a visible and accessible support process for exactly this situation.
