Are deposits for lifestyle events and resort weekends refundable?

There is no universal refund rule for lifestyle events or resort weekends. The organizer, venue, or travel supplier named on the booking page sets the terms, and a deposit may be nonrefundable even when the full balance has not yet been paid. Read the cancellation policy before registering, and save a copy of the terms shown at checkout.

Look for the deadline for cancellations, whether the deposit can be transferred, and whether refunds are issued in cash, as credit, or not at all. Also check what happens if the event is postponed, moved, or canceled. Those situations may be handled differently from a guest changing plans.

If plans change, contact the organizer or supplier promptly and keep the conversation in writing. Ask whether a transfer, name change, or credit is available, but do not assume an exception has been approved until it is confirmed. Payment method, insurance, or personal circumstances do not automatically create a refund right.

For resort weekends, the resort’s lodging rules and the weekend organizer’s event rules may both apply. A room, package, and event deposit can have separate terms.
