What does MFM (Male-Female-Male Threesome) mean?

MFM describes a threesome involving two men and one woman, typically within a couple's context where the woman is the focus. It is closely associated with hotwife, stag/vixen, and bull dynamics.

MFM threesomes are a natural extension of hotwife and stag/vixen dynamics: a woman (the vixen or hotwife) engages with a second man (the bull or confident single) while her primary partner is present, participatory, or supportive. The specific level of the male partner's involvement varies — some are active participants throughout; others are present and watching; others arrange the encounter and join for part of it.

From an etiquette standpoint, the single man's role in an MFM is to read the room. He is entering an existing relationship dynamic and his job is to honor it. Good communication beforehand — through a thorough Letter introduction — prevents misunderstandings about who does what and how the couple prefers to manage the dynamic.

MFM encounters are also practiced by couples without a specific hotwife framing — some couples simply enjoy the energy of two male partners focusing on one woman as a shared experience, without the power-exchange overlay. In these cases the MFM is more symmetric and less about a defined dynamic.
