Single Women · Reviewed August 2026

How do I get started in the lifestyle as a single woman?

Start by deciding what you actually want — connecting with couples, meeting other single women, or just exploring the community — before you verify or message anyone. Then verify your identity, read a few event or club policies to see how they treat single women, and start with a low-pressure meet-and-greet rather than a high-stakes first event.

The most common mistake single women make getting started is skipping straight to messaging or event RSVPs before deciding what they actually want. Take the time first: are you curious about connecting with couples, interested in meeting other single women, or mainly there to be part of a community without a specific goal? Your answer changes which spaces and conversations are worth your time.

Verification is the next step, and it works in your favor as a single woman: on JoinTheSwing you pass the same government-ID and biometric check as everyone else, which means the people messaging you have already had their identity confirmed too — you are not evaluating strangers from zero.

Before responding to anyone, set your own limits in writing, even just to yourself: what you're open to, what's off-limits, and what would make you leave a conversation or an event. Revisit them as you learn more — they are allowed to change.

For a first step into the community, a meet-and-greet or a low-key social event is a better starting point than a club night or a private party. It's low-pressure, fully clothed, and gives you a read on who's actually in the community before you decide how far you want to go.

The Swinging for Beginners guide covers the broader on-ramp — conversations, terminology, and what first events look like — and applies whether you're arriving single or as a couple.
