How do I vet a couple before meeting them?
Confirm both partners are actually engaged — not just one messaging on the other's behalf — ask direct questions about what each of them individually wants, and take the conversation slow before agreeing to meet in person. The most useful vetting signal is whether both people in the couple are genuinely present in the conversation, not just one partner speaking for both. Ask a question that specifically invites the other partner's own words, and see whether the answer sounds like it's actually theirs.
Ask direct questions early: what are each of you individually looking for, what happens if only one of you connects with me, and how do you two make decisions together. Vague or evasive answers to any of these are worth taking seriously as a signal to slow down.
On a verified platform, both partners on a couple account have each passed their own government-ID and biometric check before the account is approved — which confirms two real people exist behind the profile, though it doesn't substitute for the conversation above about what each of them actually wants.
Take your time before agreeing to meet in person. A couple worth connecting with will not rush you, and will respect a slower pace or a public first meeting without treating it as a red flag on your part.
