Generic messages — 'we love your profile' or 'you two are amazing' — do not give the recipient anything to respond to.
Reference something specific from their profile. If they mentioned a city, a hobby, an event they attended, or a preference they stated clearly, respond to that specifically. It signals that you actually read the profile rather than sending the same message to every couple you saw.
