What are Circles on JoinTheSwing?
Circles was the original name for Groups on JoinTheSwing. Groups are planned for launch: verified-member spaces organised around shared interests, locations, or event formats, such as a couples group for a region, a travel-focused group, or a first-timers group.
Groups — originally called Circles — are planned as a layer between individual connections and the full platform membership. Rather than meeting everyone and hoping the right people surface, Groups are intended to let you find the subset of the community that matches your interests and social rhythm.
A local Group is intended to work like a chapter where members can coordinate plans and share communication. JoinTheSwing does not host events; Groups would be a place to coordinate attendance at events run by independent hosts and venues.
Interest-based Groups organise around things like travel preferences (resort weekends, hotel takeovers, European travel), lifestyle formats (house party regulars, club night attendees), or experience level (first-timers, experienced couples, open to teaching and mentoring). These are meant to make it easier to find people with compatible expectations than broad platform search.
For new members, joining a relevant Group is intended to be a way to build social context, since the people in a Group would have chosen the same filter you have.
Groups are planned to have their own moderation and to be invite-only or approval-based. Group membership would be context, not proof: it does not replace your own screening.
