How do events work on JoinTheSwing?
Events on JoinTheSwing — originally called Invitations — support host-published dress codes and format notes, RSVP requests, reviewed private guest lists, and approval-gated venue details. A listing describes product capability, not a currently scheduled JoinTheSwing-hosted event.
The events system is designed to reduce two risks in lifestyle event listings: public venue addresses that expose attendees and open RSVPs that let anyone show up. Those controls are intended for future first-party event workflows and do not establish a current hosted event.
Hosts post an event with all the relevant details — format, dress code, capacity, RSVP requirements, any special notes — but without the venue address. Members request to attend by submitting an RSVP through their verified profile. The host reviews each request against their criteria before approving.
Once approved, you receive the venue address and any additional host notes. The guest list is visible to confirmed attendees only — not to the general public, not to people who were not approved, and not to members who have not requested to attend. This keeps the event genuinely private.
JoinTheSwing has built QR check-in tooling for future first-party events. A QR code would not replace a venue's legal obligation or policy to check physical ID, and publication of the tool does not establish that a JoinTheSwing event is currently scheduled.
The events surface covers the full range of event formats: meet-and-greet social nights, hosted house parties, club nights at venue partners, hotel takeover weekends, and resort trips organised through Bare Getaways. The format notes on each event make it clear what kind of evening to expect.
