Hedonism II is the original adults-only, clothing-optional all-inclusive — 280 rooms on 22 acres of Negril's Seven Mile Beach, split between a quieter clothing-optional side and a fully nude side. What it's actually like
Hedonism II is less a resort than a long-running house party with a beach attached. The property divides into two worlds: the "prude" side, with garden- and ocean-view rooms along a quieter clothing-optional beach, and the "nude" side, where nudity is the norm and the renovated premium suites — some with private hot tubs and terraces — cluster. Six restaurants, premium open bars, a nightclub, and a relentless entertainment crew keep theme nights, costume parties, and live music running essentially every evening. Clothing is required in restaurants, but the dress code stops at "technically dressed."
The crowd is famously friendly and famously repeat-heavy — a large share of guests are returners who plan around specific group takeover weeks, and they will happily adopt first-timers into the conversation at the swim-up bar. It is not a polished five-star property; rooms and grounds are comfortable rather than luxurious, and the value is the atmosphere, not the thread count.
Who it suits
Couples and singles (18+) who want a social, high-energy, no-judgment week and care more about people than polish. If you want quiet luxury, look at Hidden Beach or Desire Pearl instead — Hedo is the extroverted end of the spectrum, and the nightly entertainment calendar assumes you want to participate.
What first-timers should know
Nudity is required on the nude beach side but nowhere else, and nobody is pressured into anything — consent culture is taken seriously and enforced. Book the side that matches your comfort level, expect a roughly $250 pre-authorization at check-in, and know that the resort's character changes week to week depending on which travel groups are in residence. A lifestyle-savvy agent who knows the group calendar is genuinely useful here.
Best time to go
Negril's dry, warm high season runs roughly November through April. The big themed group weeks — many organized around repeat-guest takeovers — are the liveliest and sell out furthest ahead; summer is hotter, more humid, and cheaper, with hurricane season technically running June through November. If it's your first visit, a regular (non-takeover) week in winter is the gentlest introduction.
