How private is being a single woman on JoinTheSwing?
From the current Veriff check JoinTheSwing does not receive your ID or selfie — we keep only the result, Veriff's session reference, a consent receipt and non-biometric review metadata (members from our earlier, retired verification process may have images stored, deleted with the account; see the privacy policy). Your profile shows an approximate area rather than an exact location, photos stay in private albums you can revoke at any time, there is no public directory, and the planned PWA option leaves nothing on your home screen unless you put it there. Nothing here promises you're undiscoverable — it explains exactly what is and isn't possible.
Verification without retention
What actually happens to my ID and selfie?
Verification is an automated document and biometric face-match and liveness check run by Veriff, a third-party identity provider — not by JoinTheSwing directly. Your government ID and a selfie go to Veriff for that check. From the current Veriff check, JoinTheSwing never receives or stores the images themselves; we retain the verification result, Veriff's session reference, a consent receipt and non-biometric review metadata (case status, outcome category, decision date). Members who verified through our earlier, retired verification process may still have ID or selfie images in our storage; those are deleted when the account is deleted, as the privacy policy explains. It's the foundation every other privacy control on this page sits on top of.

Zero-retention verification.
Your ID and selfie go straight to Veriff, our verification provider. Private albums, revocable access.
Share photos selectively, per member, and pull that access back at any time — access isn't permanent once granted.
Approximate location.
Your profile shows an approximate area, not an exact address, so nobody can pinpoint where you live or work from it.
No public member directory.
There is no public, browsable list of members, and profiles are never indexed by search engines.
Because single membership is its own account type, every one of these settings is yours alone to configure — nobody else's decisions affect what you show or who can reach you.

Does anything show up on my phone?
JoinTheSwing is planned as a progressive web app — nothing to download, and no app icon on your home screen unless you choose to add it yourself. There's no App Store purchase history. Native mobile apps are in testing but not yet publicly available; when they are, this page will say so.
The honest answer
Can a coworker or someone from my personal life find my profile?
Profiles aren't indexed by search engines and there's no public directory to browse, so a coworker searching Google or scrolling a member list won't find you that way. What we won't claim is absolute undiscoverability — no platform can promise that nobody who is also a verified member could ever recognize you, and we'd rather say that plainly than promise something we can't guarantee. The realistic risk is genuinely low, and it's lower than on unverified platforms with public browsing, because there's no open directory for anyone to stumble across in the first place.
